Ella M. (Kemarly) Koch-Patterson, 83, of Montpelier and formerly of the Sarasota, Florida area passed away early Thursday morning at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice.  She was born on July 4, 1934, in Bryan to Harry R. and Beatrice H. (Gregg) Kemarly.  She married Donald Larry Patterson and he preceded her in death.

During her time in Florida Ella worked for several insurance companies and was the 1991 Florida Insurance Women of the Year.   She loved reading, animals and living the farm life as a young girl.  Ella enjoyed trips to the driving range and her work, she especially loved working for the Pentagon.  She also was an avid bowler both in Florida and in Montpelier.    

She is survived by her children, Roxanna Koch of Montpelier, Donny Patterson, Kathryn (Scott) Johnson and Michelle Patterson all of Florida; four grandchildren; one great grandchild; and one brother, Donald Kemarly of Onarga, IL.

Ella was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald Larry Patterson, children Monica Patterson and Jeff Patterson, and sister Evelyn Copeland.

A time to receive friends will be on Saturday, September 23rd from 1-3pm at the Thompson-Geesey Funeral Home Empire Street Chapel in Montpelier.  Interment will be Saturday, September 30th at 10 am at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer.  Memorial contributions may be given to the American Lung Association.
