Carol Nixon Obituary

Carol Jean Nixon, 81, of Pioneer, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2019. She was born on February 20, 1938 in Montpelier to Harvey and Helen (Eidenier) Miller. Carol graduated from Pioneer High School and went on to attend Defiance College. On May 15, 1959 she married Andrew “Andy” Nixon in Angola, IN and he preceded her in death in 1999.

Carol was a devoted wife and mother. She worked as the secretary for the family business, Nixon Construction, alongside her husband Andy. She was a member of Solid Rock Community Church in West Unity. Carol loved spoiling her grandchildren as well as her family’s dogs by giving them not just one treat at a time, but handfuls. She loved crafting and cooking and was always trying out new recipes for her family to try.

Carol is survived by her two children, David (Dianne) Nixon of Pioneer and Laura (Kevin) Dulle of Edon; daughter-in-law, Judy Nixon of Pioneer; four grandchildren, Alexis, Blake, Caitlyn and Carsen; one brother, Lowell “Ed” (Angie) Miller of Pioneer; and one sister, Marilyn “Toot” Hicks of Cabot, AR.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Andy Nixon; son, Paul Nixon; and two brothers, Paul “Zeke” and Robert “Rib” Miller.
