Alan J. Miller, 49, of Milan, Ohio and formerly of Pioneer passed away Thursday morning at Vista Care Center in Milan.  He was born on January 24, 1967 in Morenci, Michigan to Karl J. and Ilena R. (Borck) Miller.  Alan graduated from Waldron High School in 1985. Alan worked for Mohawk Tools in Montpelier until it closed in 1991.  He was employed at several local industries for a period of time.  Alan was involved with the Williams County and Defiance County Coon Hunters Clubs.  He was a sports enthusiast. He is survived by his father Karl Miller of Alvordton; two daughters Allie (Ryan) Hopkins of Angola, Indiana and Page L. Pace of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; one son Joseph J. Miller of Ft. Wayne; one grandson, Gracin Alan Hopkins of Angola, Indiana; one brother Eric (Kelley) Miller of Camden, Michigan; three sisters, Lorrie (Carl) Colton of Westland, Michigan, Rebecca (Gary) Powers of Pioneer, and Juli (Doug) Peterson of Pioneer. Alan was preceded in death by his mother Ilena and brother, Roger Miller. Visitation for Alan will be on Monday, August 22, 2016 from 11-1 pm at the Thompson Funeral Home in Pioneer. The funeral service will be immediately following visitation at 1:00 pm at the funeral home with Reverend Terry Baldwin to officiate.  Interment will follow at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer.  Memorial contributions may be given to Huntington's Disease Society of America or Williams County Humane Society.
