Alda J. Gutierrez, 73 of Montpelier passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the Community Hospitals and Wellness Center in Montpelier.  She was born on October 28, 1948 in Wauseon, Ohio to John and Mae (Doan) Siebenaler.  Alda graduated from Montpelier High School in 1967 and then on January 22, 1971 she married Ned P. Gutierrez in Montpelier.

She loved doing crafts especially doing her hand painted ceramics, which she enjoyed selling at craft shows.  Alda was a flower child and would often design floral pieces as well as growing yellow roses in her garden.  She had a soft heart for feeding the neighborhood birds and would allow them to eat right out of her hand.

Alda was survived by her husband of 51 years Ned, a daughter Monica (Byron) Ferguson of Markle, Indiana, three siblings Ann (Dail) Fritsch, Sandy (Gary) Edinger, and Doug (Cindie) Siebenaler all of Montpelier as well as many nieces and nephews.    She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation for Alda will be on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 4-7pm at the Thompson Funeral Home in Montpelier.  Services will be on Thursday at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor Matthew Gullion to officiate.  Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
