Betty C. Shartzer, 96, of Montpelier, passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home in Montpelier. She was born on November 28, 1922 in Wauseon to Mozano D. and Ula B. (Blakeman) Garber. Betty graduated from Morenci High School in 1941 and retired in 1983 after 17 years as dispatcher for Norfolk & Western Railroad in Montpelier.

Betty is survived by her nieces and nephews, other family and good friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband Verl Graffice.

Per Betty's wishes, no funeral services will be held. She will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci, Michigan. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Thompson Funeral Home in Montpelier.
