Obituary

Betty Alice Zuver, 80, of Alvordton, Ohio passed away Thursday morning in the Community Hospitals and Wellness Center in Bryan. She was born June 28, 1931 in Kunkle, Ohio to William and Myrtle (Taylor) Kosier. Betty had worked for Spangler Candy Company for 42 years on the production line making candies and candy canes. She was a member of the Kunkle United Brethren Church all of her life. She was a very active member having taught Bible Study classes, served communion, taught summer Bible School and was in the church choir. She was also a member of both the North Central Athletic Boosters and the Stryker Athletic Boosters. Betty is survived by three sons: Maurice L. (Betsy) Zuver, Jr. of Bryan, Terry L. (Thomasina) Zuver of Pioneer, and Kim L. Zuver of Bryan; a daughter Dawn L. (Mike) Wasnich of Drummond Island, Michigan, six grandchildren Stacy (James) Geyer, Brady Zuver, Craig Wasnich, Brock Zuver , Delaney Zuver and Caleb Zuver, a great grandson Colin Geyer, three sisters: Dorothy Parks of Montpelier, Nina Zuver of Kunkle and Pauline "Skip" Goble of Pioneer. She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Russel, Marshal, Carson and Darrel Kosier and one sister: Edna Cline. Visitation for Betty Zuver will be Saturday June 9 at the Wilson-Geesey Funeral Home in Montpelier from 2 until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Kunkle United Brethren Church in Kunkle on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Ronald L. Evans to officiate. Burial will follow in the Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer. Preferred memorials are to the Kunkle United Brethren Church or the Montpelier Senior Center.
