Obituary

Carl E. Rehklau, 92 of Camden, Michigan died early Tuesday morning at the C.H. & W.C in Bryan after a brief illness.  Carl was born on April 8th 1919 in Archbold, Ohio to John A. & Hannah E. (Keiser) Rehklau. Carl was a 1937 graduate of Pioneer High School.  Soon after graduation his true passion developed for farming.  Carl was a lifelong farmer and had farms in both Amboy Township, Michigan and Madison Township in Ohio.  For a number of years Carl raised dairy cows.  Carl also had a love and talent for woodworking and carpentry.  Beginning in 1968 Carl was elected to the Amboy Township Trustees and was the clerk for 12 ½ years.  Carl was a faithful member of the First Church of Amboy formerly the Amboy Baptist Church and was both a Sunday school teacher and Deacon for many years. Carl was survived by two daughters Carol (Larry) Seeley of Angola, IN and Carleen (Patrick) Wyse of Archbold, Ohio, one son C. Wayne (Genie) Rehklau of Clinton, KY, one daughter in-law Sheri Rehklau of Camden, eleven grandchildren Dawn (Mark) Hancock, Bradley (Miya) Seeley, Tami (Norm) Pontious, Craig Rehklau, Christina (Nickolas) Oszaczky, Norman (Diane) Rehklau, Jeff Rehklau, Michelle (Jamie) Rice, Landon (Rachel) Wyse, Lance (Maria) Wyse and Logan (Kayla) Wyse, eleven great grandchildren and three step grandchildren. Carl was preceded in death by his parents, first wife June M. (Close), second wife Erma (Richardson), one son Marvin G. Rehklau, one brother Elvin Rehklau and one sister Martha M. Bowman. Visitation hours for Carl will be on Friday June 17th from 5-8 pm at the Thompson Funeral Home in Pioneer.   Services will be on Saturday at 11 am at the First Church of Amboy, 3000 Territorial Road, Camden, Michigan with Pastor John MacFarlane to officiate.  Interment will be at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the First Church of Amboy.  Condolences can be sent to thethompsonfuneralhome.com
