Charles "Chuck" G. Parent, 77 of Pioneer passed away early Wednesday morning July 25 at Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Charles was born October 16, 1934 in Defiance County, Ohio to Gilbert H. and Beulah A. (Snyder) Parent. Chuck graduated from Pioneer High School in 1952 and then attended Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He married the former Ruby L. Weber and she preceded him in death April of 2003. Charlie retired from Hayes-Albion in West Unity in l980. He had also worked for N N Metal Stampings in Pioneer as well as Yeager's Market in Pioneer. He enjoyed fishing, the Cleveland Indians, horse racing and playing cards especially gin. Chuck had been a little league coach in Pioneer for many years. He was a member of the North Central Athletic Boosters. Chuck is survived by two daughters: Sherree and husband Jerry Grieser of Archbold, Shelley and husband Jason Elser of Pioneer, one son: Brent and wife Tiffany Parent of Holland, Ohio; six grandchildren: Melissa Koop, Matthew Towers, Elizabeth Seeman, Tiffani Grieser, Amanda Parent and Ruby Parent; six great grandchildren; two sisters: Ann and husband Mike Skerik of Colorado, Ruth and husband Don Ives of Hillsdale, Michigan. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruby and one sister: Ruby Parent Visitation for Charles will be Friday July 27th at the Thompson Funeral Home in Pioneer from 2:00 until 8:00 P.M.  Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home with Pastor Mike Harbour to officiate.   Burial will follow at the Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer.
