DALE R. RIGG
Dale R. Rigg, 94, of rural West Unity, Ohio died late Friday April 8, 2011 at Bryan Care and Rehabilitation Center, Bryan.
He was born February 3, 1917 in Superior Township near Montpelier, to Burl Ray and Mary Urilla (McKarns) Rigg and had been a lifelong Williams County resident.
Dale was a 1934 graduate of Bryan High School, and on April 9, 1939 he was married to Wilhelmina (Leininger) and she preceded him in death on November 17, 2000. Prior to her passing the couple enjoyed spending many winters in Texas.
Dale was a retired lifelong farmer, and had been a truck driver for Perfection Finishers of Wauseon. He was a long time member of St. James Lutheran Church at Burlington. And he was presently serving as President of the Resident's Council at Bryan Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Surviving is a son, Roy (Sharon) Rigg, West Unity, and a daughter, Willadene (David) Rausch, Marysville, Ohio; five grandchildren, Keith (Debbie) Rausch, Marysville, Kevin (Cheryl) Rausch, Marysville, Jane (Scott) Bordner, Hilliard, Kimberly (Mark) Miller, Bryan, and Paul (Clarissa) Rigg, West Unity. Ten great grandchildren, one brother, Ralph (Eloise) Rigg, Bryan, and a sister-in-law, Irene Rigg, of Stryker.
Also preceding him in death was a brother, Wayne Rigg.
Visitation for Dale Rigg will be Tuesday April 12, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in Wilson – Geesey Funeral Home, 335 Empire Street, Montpelier, Ohio. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday April 13, 2011 in St. James Lutheran Church, Burlington, with Pastor James Strawn officiating. Burial will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery near Archbold. Preferred memorials are to St. James Lutheran Church or The Activity Fund at Bryan Care and Rehabilitation Center.
