Obituary

Though I shall walk thru the valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil. Davad Ellsworth Stafford walked thru that valley on May 31, 2012. He was well acquainted with the Lord and did not walk thru that valley alone. His plans now include living in the house of the Lord forever. Davad was born 11-20-1946 in Hillsdale, Michigan to Oscar G. Stafford and Gladys M. (Carter) Stafford who preceded him in death.. He grew up in Frontier, MI and graduated from Camden Frontier High School in 1964. Davad completed two years at Stautzenberger Business College in Toledo for drafting. Completed a Numerical Control program at Northwest Technical College, Archbold. Schooling was also obtained from Liberty Bible College in West Virginia. He married Carolyn S. Cole on June 26, 1965 in Waldron, MI and she survives. Davad is survived also by a son, Allen and Jolene Stafford and one granddaughter Lillian, Edon, OH. He is also survived by a brother Michael and Linda Stafford, Reading, MI, brother in law Bruce W. Cole, Montpelier and sister in law Judy A. Cole, Hillsdale, MI. Davad was a former member and deacon for 12 years of Bridgewater Community Church, Montpelier, and a member of Grace Community Church, Bryan for three. He is a current member of Alvordton United Brethern Church, Alvordton, OH. He was a very talented machinist and tool and die worker having worked at Mohawk of Montpelier, JBM Tool in Bryan, 4 Bar B Ranch, Gunnison, Colo, and for 25 years at Action Precision Products in Pioneer, OH. He also owned and operated the Frizzy Fry concession trailer that traveled around the county to area summer events and the Williams County Fair from 1997-1999. Davad had a very scientific mind and often invented items to fit what was needed at the time. Most recent was a solar bicycle for his own use and the cutter for the Frizzy Fry Concessions. He loved plunking thru the woods on his motorcycle, trail riding and hill climbing. He loved attending car shows with his son, Allen. One of his greatest loves has been sitting in or leading a good Bible study. He enjoyed his friends company and working quietly in his garage on his many projects. His family will miss his quick humor. His granddaughter has been a very big light in his life.. he enjoyed spending time with her. They were buddies from the beginning of her life. Visitation for Davad will be Sunday June 3rd from 2-8p.m. at the Wilson-Geesey Funeral Home in Montpelier. Funeral services will be Monday at the Alvordton United Brethren Church at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dan Van Arsdalen officiating. Burial will follow at the Rogers Cemetery in Northwest Township, Ohio. Suggested memorials are to the Alvordton United Brethren Church.
