Donald E. Bickham, 82 of Waldron and formerly of West Unity was called home to be with his Lord late Monday night at the Community Hospitals and Wellness Center in Bryan. Don was born on August 24th 1929 in Hardin County, Ohio to Harold A. & Edna M. (Marling) Bickham.  Don graduated in 1947 from Roundhead High School in Roundhead, Ohio.  After school Don entered the United States Army and served honorably during the Korean War.  On Valentine's Day in 1954 he married Donabell M. Bowers. Don retired from the Ohio Turnpike in 1992 after 19 years of employment in the maintenance building in Kunkle.  Don was a member of the Pioneer Church of the Nazarene, the NRA, the West Unity Sportsmen Club and the West Unity American Legion.  Whatever church Don was affiliated with at the time he was always very involved. Don is survived by his wife of nearly 58 years Donabell, one son Michael (Brenda) Bickham of Alvordton, one daughter Michelle (Stanley) Roesener of Waldron, MI, three grandchildren Dustin Bickham, Anthony Bickham, Jessica Roesener, two great grandchildren Hunter Michael and A.J. Bickham, and one sister Phyllis (Meryl) Brillhart of Edon. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers an infant Lawrence Ray Bickham and & Loren Lee Bickham. Visitation hours for Don will be on Thursday, January 19th from 4-7pm at the Thompson Funeral Home in Montpelier.  A celebration of life service will be on Friday at 1:30pm at the funeral home with Reverend Scott Williams and Reverend Gene McBride to officiate.  Interment will be at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer with military graveside rites by the Pioneer Veterans.  Donations can be made to the Pioneer Church of the Nazarene.
