Jake dedicated much of his career to serving others through his work. He worked for the railroad before joining Pioneer Transformer, where he faithfully worked for 25 years until his retirement in 2005.

Outside of work, Jake found great joy in working on cars and spending time fishing. He also attended Pioneer Bible Fellowship, where he enjoyed fellowship with his church family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Carol Miller; his daughter, Tiffany (Kevin) Schroder of Archbold; stepchildren, Shirley (Mike) Rodgers and Jerry (Mindy) Smith all of Rushsylvania, Ohio; grandchildren, Isabella and Markus Schroder; 9 step-grandchildren, Tony Paxton, Jeryme Koch, Reno Smith, Anthony Smith, Stephanie Smith, Kenny Koch, Amanda Langham, Corey Nye and Thomas Nye; 21 great grandchildren; brothers, Gary Miller of Pioneer and Fred Miller of Montpelier; his sister, Sue Harbaugh of Montpelier; and numerous other family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Russell Kosier; brothers, Stan and Harold Miller; a step great grandson; and one step daughter.
