Donald L. Nicolen, 83 of Montpelier passed away Wednesday afternoon at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan.  He was born on June 29, 1932 in Bridgewater Township, Ohio to Richard and Ruth (Bible) Nicolen.  He graduated from Montpelier High School in 1950, then enlisted in the United States Army where he served in the 11th Airborne Division during the Korean War.  On February 14, 1954 he married Theresa Ferraro in Angola and she survives. Don worked at Mohawk Tools in Montpelier starting in 1953.  He served in various positions ending as production superintendent until 1982.  He then retired from Liner Health Products in West Unity in 1995 as a general manager.  Don was an avid fisherman and loved being outdoors. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Theresa; two daughters, Randa (Stephen) McCrea of Montpelier, and Mary Jo Welling of West Unity; daughter-in-law Connie Nicolen of Montpelier; son-in-law James Buldas of Toledo; eleven grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Lonnie Chrisman and Chuck Nicolen, two daughters, Anne Nicolen and Connie Buldas, brother Ronald Nicolen, half-sister Nancy Buchs, and one granddaughter Lexie Andres. Public Military graveside services will be on Monday, June 6th at 11am at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier with Father Fred Duschl to officiate.  Military honors will be provided by the Montpelier Veterans.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Williams County Humane Society
