ETHEL M. BURCHAM 1911 – 2011 Ethel M. Burcham, age 100 of Montpelier passed away early Wednesday June 15, 2011, at Hillside Country Living, Bryan, following a brief illness. Born in Montpelier on February 7, 1911 to Roy and Hattie (McClain) Creek, she was a lifelong Montpelier resident. She was well known for her giving personality and had the heart of a servant. She attended St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Montpelier. Ethel was married to Robert T. Burcham in February 1929, and he preceded her in death in 1989. She is survived by her sister, Helen Banks, and daughter Eloise (Richard) Barnhart both of Montpelier, and grandchildren Cynthia (Steven) John of Tulsa, OK, Brian (Sandy) Burcham of Richmond, VA, Lynn (Pat) O'shea and Karen (Tyler) Alexander both of Kitchener, Ontario, Canada, Patricia (Merrill) Miller, of Napoleon, OH, Kathy (Scott) Whetro of Fort Wayne, IN, Carol (Doug) Sarver of Detroit, MI, Richard Jr. (Lori) Burcham, Roberta (Scott) Dye, Alan Barnhart, Emily (Troy) Altaffer, all of Montpelier. Also surviving are 24 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, brother Andrew Creek, son Richard E. Burcham, Sr., daughter-in-law Maureen Burcham, granddaughter Melissa Burcham, grandson David Barnhart, and great granddaughter Nicole Hillard. Visitation will be 4 – 8 p.m. in Wilson – Geesey Funeral Home in Montpelier on Sunday June 19, 2011. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 20, 2011 in the funeral home with Pastor Doug Sarver officiating. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Montpelier. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Gideon's International or the Hillside Country Living Activity Fund.
