Obituary

Florence L. Govin, 95 of Montpelier died Wednesday October 13, 2010 at Community Hospial and Wellness Center, Bryan following a sudden serious illness. Born January 2, 1915 near Pioneer to Amy Businger and Charles Frisbie, she was a 1933 graduate of Kunkle High School. On February 28, 1942 she was married to Glen A. Govin and he preceded her in death on September 30, 1994. A former resident of Adrian, Michigan, following retirement she and Glen resided near Baldwin, Michigan for 21 years, and she had been a Montpelier resident since 2004. Florence was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a very active member of Montpelier Senior Center. She was widely known for her talent of crocheting, and graciously shared her handiwork with many. Surviving is one sister, Birdena (Edgar) Dixon, Montpelier; a foster son, Joseph B. Hooper, Jr., East Lake, Ohio.Several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.. Also preceding her in death were a brother Francis Frisbie and two sisters, Irene Covey and Helen Clinger. Visitation will be Thursday in Wilson - Geesey Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m., where funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday with Reverend Robert Damschroder officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Grove Cemetery, Pioneer. Preferred memorials are to Montpelier Senior Center or First United Methodist Church.
