Frederick "Rick" W. Beek, 61, of Montpelier passed away Monday morning at the Community Hospitals and Wellness Center in Montpelier.  He was born on August 14, 1952 in Montpelier to Roger C. and Celia L. (Griggs) Beek.  He graduated from Montpelier High School in 1970. Rick attended the House of Prayer.  He worked at Aro Corp for 17 years as a service representative.  Rick also worked at Miller's New Market in Montpelier and One Way Plastics in Edon.  He was a former member of the Williams County Sherrif's office, working as a special deputy on the search and recovery team.  Rick was a member of the Montpelier Eagles and a former member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He is survived by one daughter, Alicia (Lyle) Raymond and one son, Travis (Kayla) Beek all of Montpelier; two sisters, Dianne Urick and Mary Beek both of Quincy, Michigan; one brother Dave (Vickie) Beek of Bryan; four grandchildren, Jozlynn, Damian, Kalie and Madison; and one great grandchild, Mekenzie Lynn, on the way. Rick was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Ryan and Josh Beek. Visitation for Rick will be on Thursday April 17th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier.  Services will be on Friday at 2pm at the funeral home with Pastor Don Harris to officiate.  Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier.  Donations may be made to the family, c/o Alicia Raymond or Travis Beek.
