Gary Lee Hemminger, 56, of Pioneer, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2015 at Community Hospitals & Wellness Center in Bryan. He was born on December 18, 1958 in Oregon, Ohio to James C. and Ruth A. (Burns) Hemminger. Gary graduated from Clay High School in Oregon, Ohio. He was a self-employed mason for many years. Gary enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, his favorite events being bonfires. Gary is survived by his five children, Melissa O'Neil of Kansas, Natalie Hemminger of Pioneer, Jessica Pierce and Kenneth Hemminger, both of Toledo, and Hayley Culver of Pioneer; seven grandchildren; three brothers, James C. Hemminger of Bryan, Richard P. Hemminger of Curtice, Ohio and Timothy A. Hemminger of Perrysburg; and girlfriend, Teresa Fuller of Pioneer. He was preceded in death by his parents. A visitation for Gary will take place on Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 3-7 pm at the Pioneer Church of the Nazarene in Pioneer, Ohio. A funeral service will take place following the visitation at 7 pm at the church, with Pastor Gene McBride to officiate. Interment will be Friday at 1pm at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer. Memorial contributions may be given in Gary's memory to The Thompson Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
