Genevieve "Jenny" Marie Govin
1930-2012
Montpelier- Genevieve M. Govin, age 82, of Montpelier, Ohio died August 12, 2012 at home with family around her under the care of the Hospital Hospice.
She was born on February 1st 1930 in Willis, Michigan the daughter of Clyde and Edith (Gotts) Bunton. Jenny graduated from Lincoln High School in Willis, Michigan in 1948. After she married Carl (Bud) Govin on November 23rd 1948 in Angola, Indiana she moved to Montpelier to raise her family.
Through the years she was a 4-H advisor, Girl Scout Leader, made Barbie doll clothes, loved to crochet, did stain glass and worked at Robinair. For 30 years she owned and operated "Bud & Jenny's Ceramics." Upon retirement she became an avid Bingo player. Jenny enjoyed spending time with her family and many friends. She enjoyed planting and watching her flowers grow.
Surviving are four daughters: Jerri (Gary) Stobinski of Monclova, Ohio, Janice Govin of Montpelier, June (LeRoy) Swalley of Stryker, Jean (Matt) Carlin of Montpelier; seven grandchildren Kirk (Mae) Stobinski, Dean (Carrie) Stobinski, Paul (Kim) Swalley, Nikki Grapengeter, Dawn Swalley, Tracie Carlin (Brent Johnston) and Cory (Codi) Carlin, 14 great grandchildren, three step great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; one sister Marion Day of DeLand, FL and one brother Richard Bunton of Willis, MI, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl "Bud"Govin in August of 2006, two brothers Robert and Max Bunton, two sisters Beatrice Hayes and Dorothy Bunton.
Visitation hours for Jenny will be on Wednesday, August 15th from 2-8 pm at the Wilson-Geesey Funeral Home in Montpelier. Services will be on Thursday at 11 am at the funeral home with Reverend Bruce Tumblin to officiate. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier. Memorials are requested to the American Cancer Society or the Hospital Hospice.
