Jerry C. Heminger, Sr., 68 of Camden, Michigan died Tuesday afternoon at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio with his wife Doris of 49 years and family by his side. Jerry was born on August 21st 1943 in Sandusky, Ohio to George R. & Evelyn C. (Reister) Hemminger. On April 14th 1962 Jerry married Doris A. Cook at Harborview in Oregon, Ohio.
First and foremost Jerry was a terrific husband, father & grandfather. In 1987 Jerry became the owner and operator of J & R Auto Repair in Pioneer and retired in 2007. Prior to this Jerry was a supervisor at Waldron Industry in Waldron, MI for approximately 24 years. Jerry was a member of the Pioneer Chamber of Commerce.
Jerry is survived by his wife Doris of Camden, two sons Jerry & Sandra Heminger, Jr. of Camden, MI, Michael A. Heminger of Defiance, one daughter Karen & Mike Ackerman of Pioneer, four grandchildren Jamie Haskell, Amanda Heminger, Michael & Taylor Ackerman, five great grandchildren Chyna, Onika, Kali, Lily and Maggie, one brother Donald & Linda Hemminger of Adrian, MI, two sisters Barbara Whitely of Monroe, MI and Janet Hemminger of Florida.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents two brothers Jim & Ray Hemminger and one sister Betty Button.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 05th from 4-7pm at the Thompson Funeral Home in Pioneer. Services will be on Sunday at 2:30pm at Lake View U. B. Church in Camden Michigan with Pastor Stephen E. Smith to officiate. Donations can be made to the Cleveland Hope Lodge at 11432 Mayfield Road, Cleveland, Ohio 44106-2364.
