JERRY A. MOTTER
Jerry A. Motter, 74, of Edgerton, Ohio died early Friday morning, May 6, 2011 in his home following an illness.
He was born March 25, 1937 at Montpelier to Ralph Sr. and Margaret Woods Motter,
And had been a former Pioneer and West Unity resident, and an Edgerton resident the past four years.
Jerry was a 1955 graduate of West Unity High School, and on August 17, 1957 he was married to Marjorie Steele, and she survives.
A U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he was a Life Member of Bryan V.F.W. Post #2489, and a member of Bryan AMVETS Post #64.
He had retired in 2002 as a machinist with ARO Corporation where he had been employed for 30 years.
Also surviving are two sons, Troy (Lisa) Motter and Scott Motter, both of Montpelier, two daughters, Lori (Al) Geiser, Montpelier, and Lisa (Tim) Nye, Edgerton. Six grandchildren, Nicole and Allison Geiser, Coty and Lindsey Motter, Nathan and Nicholas Nye. Two brothers, Ralph (Joy) Motter, Jr., Harlan, Indiana and Kevin Motter, Montpelier. Three sisters, Katy (Bruce) Hook, Montpelier, Kelly Nickles, Waldron, Michigan, and Margo Dunnawald, Evansville, Indiana. A Step-sister, Lucy Baker, Edgerton. Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister Joan Crow.
Visitation for Jerry A. Motter will be from 4 – 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Wilson – Geesey Funeral Home, Montpelier. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. with Reverend Daniel Cook officiating. Preferred memorials are to Hospice of Community Health Professionals, Archbold, Ohio.
