Obituary

JOANN I. MOTTER MONTPELIER – Joann I. Motter, 82. of Montpelier, died Tuesday morning November 8, 2011 at Bryan Care and Rehabilitation Center, Bryan. Joann was born January 27, 1929 at Montpelier to Everett E. and Edith Agnes (Hudkins) Price and had been a Montpelier resident most of her life. She was married to Vernon L. Motter and he preceded her in death on December 27, 1958. Joann had retired as a candy cane packer with Spangler Candy Company of Bryan after 38 years of service. Surviving is one son, Douglas (Lillie) Motter, Bryan; four grandchildren, Kirby Motter, Bryan, Heather (Tyson) Allman, Defiance, Cristin (Nick) Schappert, Defiance, and Denia Flower, Defiance. Five great grandchildren, Cole and Caden Allman, Zane Fackler, Zaeli Beck, and Cassidy Schappert. And a brother-in-law, Harry VanWye, Montpelier. Also preceding her in death were three brothers, Carl, Forest, and Reverend Alfred Price; four sisters, Ruth VanWye, Viola Tressler, Geraldine Huston, and Ruby Huenink. Visitation will be after 10:00 a.m. Friday November 11th in Wilson – Geesey Funeral Home, Montpelier, followed by services at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Don Harris Officiating.
