MONTPELIER -- Joyce D. Cogswell, 73, of rural Montpelier, Ohio died unexpectedly during surgery early Sunday morning at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was born October 29, 1938 near Stryker, Ohio, the daughter of Harmon and Mary Ellen (Barber) Shinew. Joyce was a 1957 graduate of Stryker High School, and was married to Lyle Cogswell on November 22, 1961. A lifelong Williams County resident, she was a homemaker and a devoted loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Surviving in addition to her husband are two sons, Leland and Leon (Hope) Cogswell, and grandson, Andrew Cogswell, all of Montpelier, and a sister, Janet Franks of Pettisville. There will be no visitation, and services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will follow in Floral Grove Cemetery, Pioneer. Preferred memorials are to Andrew's educational fund in care of the family. Arrangements are by Wilson – Geesey Funeral Home, Montpelier.
