Obituary

Judith A. Wittl, 68, of Montpelier passed away Sunday night at her daughter's home in Montpelier.  She was born on March 29, 1947 in Petoskey, Michigan to Gasper M. and Roseanna (Guaine) Panik.  Judy attended Shaffer High School in Southgate, Michigan.  In 1992 Judy married Kenneth R. Wittl in Cheboygan, Michigan and he survives. Judy owned and operated The Doll House in Bullhead, Arizona, where she made porcelain china dolls for the past fourteen years.  She also owned and operated the Sunset Bluff, a restaurant / bar / campground resort at Black Lake in Cheboygan, Michigan from 1992-2006.  Judy was a member of the Montpelier Moose Lodge.  Judy and her husband loved traveling around the United States.  She was known for her great cooking and being a talented seamstress.  She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Kenneth; father Gasper Panik, one daughter Penny (Thomas) Fry of Montpelier; two sons Timothy Moll and Randy (Samatha) Moll all of Montpelier; four step daughters, Wendy (Greg) Mohr of Santa Barbara, California, Kristen (Jim) Wittl-Parks of Williamston, Michigan, Audrey (Corky) Moore of Redford, Michigan and Donna (Bruce Pigozzi) Wittl of Lansing, Michigan; sixteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; and four siblings Dale (Ann) Vieau of Summerville, South Carolina, Ronald (Nancy) Vieau of Garden City, Michigan, Sharon (David) Hitzman of Brookings, Oregon and Pauline (Tom) Belau of Montpelier; and her loving pet dog Oliver. Judy was preceded in death by her mother, two brothers, Richard and Jerry Vieau, one sister Joann Swirles and one great grandchild Jayce Moll. Visitation for Judy will be on Friday, June 19th from 2-8pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier.  Services will be on Saturday at 10am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montpelier with Father Fred Duschl to officiate.  Interment will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Blakeslee, Ohio.  Memorial contributions may be given to Cancer Assistance of Williams County.
