K. David Reitzel, Jr., 63, of Edon passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan. He was born on September 11, 1955 in Montpelier to Keith D. Reitzel, Sr. and Doris H. (Hufford) Reitzel. Dave graduated from Edon High School in 1973. On February 5, 1977 he married Linda L. Faber at First United Methodist Church in Montpelier and she survives. Dave was the co-owner and operator alongside his brother, Kenneth of Reitzel Bros LTD in rural Edon. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Edon. Dave is survived by his wife of 42 years, Linda L. Retizel; three sons, K. David Reitzel, III of McAlester, OK, Jacob (Shawna) Reitzel and Joseph (Taysha) Reitzel both of Edon; seven grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth (Gail) Reitzel of Edon; one sister, Kay (Kenny) Vollmer of Edon; special nephews, Christopher, Tyler and Austin Farris; numerous other family members and close friends. Dave was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter, Kandythe Reitzel in 1983. A visitation will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018 from 2-8 pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 11 am at St. Peter's Lutheran Chruch with Pastor Mary Beth Smith-Gunn to officiate. Burial will follow at Edon Union Cemetery. Following the interment, the family invites everyone to a Celebration of Life Luncheon at the Edon Community Building. Memorials may be given in Dave's memory to Edon FFA Alumni or St. Peter's Lutheran Church.
