KENNETH GEORGE CORNELL
1918 – 2010
MONTPELIER – Kenneth George Cornell, 92, of Montpelier, died Thursday afternoon, December 9, 2010 at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home following a lingering illness.
Born September 16, 1918 at Montpelier to Kathryn A, Rosenberger and Gordon G, Cornell, he was a lifelong Montpelier resident.
A graduate of Montpelier High School, he attended Ohio State University and was a member of the Ohio State Alumni Club. Also he was a member of Montpelier Loyal Order of Moose.
A long time employee of Montpelier Manufacturing Company, he was serving as a supervisor when the plant burned and was closed. He then was employed a supervisor at Hayes-Albion Corp in Bryan, and following retirement, he was employed by Ohio Department of Highway Transportation for a time.
Surviving are a nephew, Fred VanFossen, Ft. Wayne, Indiana and a niece, Susan Doughman, Salt Lake City, Utah. Several cousins and three special friends, Ruth Thind, Bryan, Ohio, Marilyn Elliott, Pioneer, Ohio, Joshua Martin, Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Preceding him in death was a sister Lenore VanFossen.
There will be no visitation, and Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Riverside Cemetery, Montpelier, with Richard Will officiating. Preferred Memorials are to the OSU Alumni Club or Evergreen Manor Activity Fund.
