Lavera M. Smith, 87, of Pioneer passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  She was born on February 19, 1935 in Montpelier to Francis and Helen (Traush) Moreland.

Lavera was a member of the Pioneer Bible Fellowship Church.  She worked at Pioneer Transformer for 21 years.  Lavera was involved with the Goldwing Motorcycle Club, where she served as president along side her husband Lynn.  She loved to crochet, play cards and shop.

She is survived by her children Marilyn (Dave) Miller of Hillsdale, Michigan, Lowell (Tammy) Fast of Pioneer and Terry (Fred) Cole of Symra, Tennessee; eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; siblings Phyllis Bair of Florida, Betty Williams of Pioneer, Donna Gill of Pioneer and Ed (Robin) Moreland of Pioneer.

Lavera was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Harry Fast, second husband Lynn Smith, son David Fast, brothers Frank Moreland and Lamar Moreland.

Visitation for Lavera will be on Wednesday, October 26th from 4-8pm at the Thompson Funeral Home in Pioneer.  Graveside services will be on Thursday at 10am at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer with Pastor Lowell Fast to officiate.  Memorial contributions may be given to the Pioneer Bible Fellowship Church.
