Lester George Rummel, 95 of Montpelier passed away at his home Monday afternoon. He was born October 27, 1916 in Frankenmuth, Michigan to Hermann G. and Kathrine (Schmidt) Rummel.  Lester was an M.P.  in the U.S. Army during World War II.  He married Jospehine M. Draper and she preceded him in death in May of 1984. He had lived most of his life in the Saginaw, Michigan area working at G.M. as a water and oil pump repairman. He retired after 35 years. Lester was a member of the Grace Family Fellowship Church in Swanton, Ohio. Lester is survived by one son: Darrell and Linda Rummel of Montpelier, three Granddaughters: Londa Sabatino, Iris Rummel and Rita Rummel, two Great Grandchildren: Jake Rummel and Lily Rummel. A memorial service for Lester will be held Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Montpelier with Pastor Stuart Mahan officiating.  Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Saginaw, Michigan on Saturday, April 14th at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Stuart Mahan to officiate.  Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #439. Donations can be made to the Hospice of the donor's choice.
