Obituary

Martha Kay Ackley, 79, of Alvordton passed away at her home on Thursday, February 8, 2024.  She was born on October 8, 1944 to Russell and Helen (Clark) Stewart.  Martha graduated from Reading High School in 1962.  Martha and Don have been a part of each other's lives since they were married on October 12, 1962.

Martha was a homemaker while her kids were growing up.  She later worked at Robinair in Montpelier for a number of years.  She loved her family, enjoyed doing puzzles and watching birds.  She did not attend a local church, but looked forward to watching the Beavertown God's Missionary church services in Pennsylvania online.

She is survived by her children Tammy (Steve) Grant of West Unity, Michael (Shelly) Ackley of Wauseon, Rebecca (Shawn) Ryhal of Archbold, Victoria Echler of Pioneer and David (Sherry) Ackley of West Unity; eighteen grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren; and siblings Don (Cynthia) Stewart of Hillsdale, Jim (Kay) Stewart of West Unity and Marvin (Esther) Stewart of Hillsdale.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Mary Nichols and Marlene Edwards, brothers Clark Carroll, Alvin and Norman Stewart; and a great granddaughter Alexandria Lynn Grant.

Visitation for Martha will be on Tuesday,  February 13, 2024 from 4-7 pm and on Wednesday from 12-1 pm at the Thompson Funeral Home in Pioneer.  Services will be on Wednesday at 1 pm at the funeral home.  Interment will follow at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer.
