Marvin "Marty" L. Davis, 71 of Bryan died Sunday night at Parkview Medical Center in Ft. Wayne Indiana after suffering from an apparent stroke earlier in that day.  He was born on December 31, 1940 in Edgerton Ohio to Rudolph T. and Rose (Walsh) Davis.  He graduated from Edgerton High school in 1959.  On March 7, 1970 Marty married Marilyn Heller in Edgerton Ohio and she preceded him in death in July of 1993. Marty was in the Army National Guard of Ohio, a member of St. Patrick Church in Bryan, a member of the Bryan Fraternal Order of Eagles, Bryan Moose, and Bryan Knights of Columbus.  Marty enjoyed gardening, his Allis Chalmers tractors and his John Deere Gator. Marty was the sole owner / operator of Marty Davis Electric for over 30 years.  He had also worked for Spangler Candy Company, Salzman Electric and Kaduk Electric. Marty is survived by his two daughters, April (Ryan) Coughlan of Pandora Ohio and Jill A. Davis of Bryan, two sisters Imogene Stark of Edgerton and Audrey Davis of Bryan, and three grandchildren Kayleigh K. Coughlan, E. Kennedy Coughlan and Kameron M. Coughlan. Marty was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, three brothers Tom, Denver, Dewayne and one sister Kathleen Goebel. Visitation for Marty will be Thursday October 18 from 2-7pm at the Thompson Funeral Home in Montpelier, with a scripture service at 7pm.  Services will be on Friday at 11am at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Edgerton with Father Jim Halleron to officiate.  Interment will follow at Fountain Grove Cemetery in Bryan.  Donations may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church or to Donor's Choice.
