Mary June Herzog, 76 of Wauseon, formerly of Pioneer died Sunday morning at the Heartland of Wauseon Nursing Facility. She was born on June 22nd 1935 in Gibson City, Illinois to Alfred H. and Manola P. (Donner) Suntken, Sr. Mary graduated from Montpelier High School in 1952. On March 15th 1956 she married Louis J. Herzog, Sr. in Angola, Indiana and he survives.
Mary was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon and a former member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Montpelier.
Mary is survived by her husband of 56 years Louis of Wauseon, three sons Louis J. Herzog, Jr. of Bryan, Mark (Tersa) Herzog of Camden, MI, John (Debra) Herzog of Lebonon, Missouri, two daughters Tanya (Craig) White of Adrian, MI, Debora Robinett (Michael Nester) of Swayzee, IN, 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, four brothers Alfred (Agnes) Suntken, Jr. of Butler, IN, Ed Suntken of Edon, OH, Dick (Kathy) Suntken of Lake View, IA, Merle (Marcille) Suntken of Nevada, IA, and one sister Betty Preston of Pioneer, OH.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Bob Suntken.
A time to receive family and friends will be on Wednesday, June 13th from 4-8pm at Trinity Lutheran Church in Wauseon. Services for Mary will be on Thursday at 11am at the church with Pastor Tim Sonnenberg to officiate. Donations may be made to the National Shingles Foundation. Mary's funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Thompson Funeral Home in Montpelier.
