**Due to the weather conditions, Merlin's calling hours have been postponed until Sunday, February 15.** Merlin W. "Merl" Taylor, Jr., 70 of Montpelier passed away early Wednesday morning, February 11th. He was born June 2, 1944 in West Unity, Ohio to Merlin W. and Wilda (Alvtafter) Taylor, Sr..  Merlin was a truck driver and had retired due to health reasons. He was a former member of the Montpelier Eagles. Merl is survived by his lifelong companion: Sharon Mills, two sons: Merlin Taylor III and Renee Swan of Montpelier, John (Jenny) Taylor of Montpelier; one brother, three sisters, two grandchildren: Megan and Maya Taylor, numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Visitation for Merl will be Sunday February 15th from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. There will be no funeral service. Donations can be made to the Funeral Home to help pay for his services.
