Michael Paul Birkhold, 45, of Montpelier passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at his home. He was born on June 25, 1977 in Hicksville, OH to David Paul and Vickie Lynn (Walker). Michael graduated from Montpelier High School in 1996.

He worked in the shipping department at TruFast in Bryan for over 20 years. Michael was a free spirit who enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved pop culture, music, films, especially Transformers, and playing golf.

Michael is survived by his daughter, Riley Jo Birkhold of Montpelier; parents, David and Vickie Birkhold of Bryan; sister, Stacy (Hayley Diffenbaugh) Birkhold of Montpelier; best friend, Mark Clark; close friend, Jill Waters; and other family members and good friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Fred and Bonnie Birkhold; and maternal grandparents, Fred and Linda Walker.

A time to receive friends will be held on Friday, June 23, 2023 from 2-5 pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. A celebration of Michael's life will take place immediately following at 5:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Michael's beloved daughter, Riley Jo.
