Nellie M. Clay, 95, of Parker, Colorado passed away Tuesday, November 8, 2016 where she was living with her loving daughter, Candy Krisher and husband, Lowell Monke.  Nellie was born on January 22, 1921 in West Lebanon, Indiana to Orval C. and Lina Gladys (Whitten) Bush.  On September 26, 1938, she married Carmon L. Clay who preceded her in death on January 2, 2008. Nellie graduated from West Lebanon High School in 1939.  After marrying Carmon, she was a homemaker and a dedicated, loving Army wife and mother.  When Carmon retired from the Army in Alexandria, Virginia, Nellie worked at the United Virginia Bank for approximately twelve years before they moved to Dayton, OH. Nellie enjoyed gardening, golf and playing bridge. She is survived by her two children, Candis Krisher and her husband, Lowell Monke, of Parker, Colorado and Cary Clay and his wife, Lisa of Greenwood, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Mike Robey, Wendy Van Alstyne, Ashley Heck, Lindsay Thomas, Matthew Clay and Makayla Clay, and many beloved, nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law. Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Carmon, two sisters, Marcella Crawford and Alice Rudolph, and two brothers, Johnny Bush and Stanley Owen. Visitation for Nellie will be on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 11:30AM – 12:30PM at the Thompson Funeral Home, 204 E. Main Street in Montpelier, OH.  A Funeral Service will begin at 12:30PM followed by an Internment Service at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Edgerton, OH.  Memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International, PO Box 685, Greenwood, AR 72936.
