PASTOR ROGER LEE HARDING
Pastor Roger Lee Harding, 70, of Bowling Green, Ohio, died early Monday November 14, 2011 at Heartland of Waterville, Waterville Ohio, following a lingering illness. He was born November 1, 1941 at Defiance, Ohio to William Dale and Minnie (Mulligan) Harding. He was a graduate of both Fort Wayne Bible College and the Toledo Bible College. Roger was a Bowling Green resident the past nine years, having retired after 43 years as a Pastor with the Church of the Brethren, having served Church of the Brethren pastorates in Deshler, Ohio, Circleville, Ohio, Libertyville, Iowa, Lanark, Illinois. And the Pine Creek Disciples of Christ Church in Polo, Illinois, and Antioch Christian Union Church.
On July 31, 1965, he was married to Montpelier native Mildred P. Lovejoy, and she survives along with a son, Mark Barfell, Findlay, Ohio, and daughter Tammy (Mark) Burmeister, Pemberville, Ohio, and three step grandchildren. Three brothers, Victor (Florence) Harding, Hillsdale, Michigan, Bill (Helen) Harding, Camden, Michigan, and John (Kay) Harding, North Adams, Michigan. Two sisters, Viola Sumner, Hillsdale, Michigan, and Arlene Frahley, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, a daughter, Lara Lavonne Harding, and a brother, Richard Harding. And also, several nieces and nephews
Visitation for Pastor Roger Lee Harding will be after 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2011 in Poplar Ridge Church of the Brethren, 06-970 Domersville Road, Defiance, Ohio, with funeral services to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the church with Reverend Patricia Meeks officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Ridge Cemetery. Preferred memorials are to Heartland Hospice, 3450 West Central Avenue, Toledo, Ohio 43606.
