PATRICK J. LASICH
MONTPELIER --Patrick J. Lasich, 65, of rural Montpelier, Ohio was born August 6, 1946 in Manistique, Michigan and passed away August 23, 2011 at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was a graduate of Hillsdale High School and attended Hillsdale College. His career included VP of Food Service at Sea Worlds of Orlando, Florida, San Antonio, Texas, Aurora, Ohio, and Cypress Gardens, Florida. He later managed the famous Po Po Family Restaurant in Boerne, Texas. Since moving to Ohio in 2006, he had worked for Elgin Service Center and Crossmark. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church near Montpelier. Patrick served in the Marine Corps 1966 – 1968 during the Viet Nam War where he was seriously wounded and was awarded the Purple Heart.
He was preceded in death by parents, Francis "Fritz" and Elizabeth "Betty" (Brown) Lasich, and nephew Mickey Lasich. Survived by his loving family, Darlene "Sam" (Evers), his son C.J. (Dawn) Lasich and grandson Trent Lasich, all of Waldron, Michigan. Brother Mike (Janet) Lasich, Hillsdale, Michigan, twin sisters, Mary (Jeff) Stafford, Selma, Oregon and Sherry (Steve) Mohler, Anchorage, Alaska. Parents-in-law, Jim and Arlene Evers, Pioneer, Ohio, sisters-in-law, Carma Evers, Cleveland, Ohio, Shirley (Tom) Snyder, Orlando, Florida, and Judy (Dave) Esterline, Pioneer, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, September 2, 2011, in Zion Lutheran Church near Montpelier, with Pastor Jeff Bischoff officiating. Military Honor Rites will be conducted by the Hillsdale American Legion Post. The family will receive friends in the church from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. prior to services. Suggested memorials are to Zion Lutheran Church, Hospice of Community Hospitals, Viet Nam Veterans of America, or a charity of choice.
