Obituary

Paul Feeney, 75 of Pioneer died at his home after a brief illness surrounded by his family.  He was born in Defiance County on October 19 1936 to Julian E and Helen (Schultz) Feeney.  On February 13th 1965 he married Judith Hoffman in West Unity, Ohio. Paul retired from Powers and Sons in Montpelier in 2008 after 47 years of employment as a shipping clerk.  In 1980, Paul began working part time as a Police Officer for the Pioneer and West Unity Police Departments until he retired in January of 2008. Paul had a love for life and enjoyed bowling, fishing, camping, hunting and restoring tractors.  Paul was a member of the Unity Antique Power Club. He is survived by his wife Judith of 47 years, son Paul and wife Jenny Feeney, daughter Cynthia Brinkman, three grandchildren Doug Brinkman, Sammie Brinkman, and Jonathon Feeney, a sister Betty Smith of Fort Wayne, IN, four nieces, eight nephews and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Edward Feeney. Visitation hours for Paul will be on Wednesday, August 22nd from 2-8 pm at the Thompson Funeral Home in Pioneer.  Services will be on Thursday at 11 am at the funeral home with Pastor Michael Martinelli to officiate.  Interment will follow at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer.  Memorials may be made to the Hospital Hospice, Pioneer Summer Recreation Program or the Williams County Cancer Assistance.
