Richard J. "Rich" Bastien, 65, of Montpelier passed away Thursday morning at Parkview Regional Medical Centers in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  He was born on April 1, 1950 in Bryan, Ohio to Otto Clarence and Doris L. (Clark) Bastien.  Richard attended Montpelier Exempted Village Schools.  He worked for General Motors in Defiance. He is survived by two daughters, Jamie Bastien-Henry and Jonelle (Tony) Bray both of Montpelier; two grandchildren Jacqueline McKenzie and Anastazia Bray; two great grandchildren Siana & Adrianna one brother Jerry (Pat) Bastien of Swanton; one sister Barbara (Eddy) Likes of Bryan; several nieces and nephews; and Puddin', his loving and faithful dog. Richard was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation for Richard will be on Monday, February 8th from 11am-2pm at the Thompson-Geesey Funeral Home on Empire Street in Montpelier.  Services will follow at 2pm at the funeral home with Pastor Benaiah Harris to officiate.  Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier.  Memorial contributions may be given to Williams County Humane Society.
