ROBERT LEE COON Robert Lee. Coon, 82, of Montpelier, died late Monday afternoon, September 19, 2011, at Evergreen Manor Nursing Home, Montpelier, following a lengthy illness. He was born June 22, 1929 in Lenawee County, Michigan to Lee Roy and Anna Lou (Abling) Coon, and had been a Pioneer, Ohio area resident since childhood until relocating to Montpelier in 1963 where he since has resided. A 1948 graduate of Pioneer, Ohio High School, on December 31, 1949 he was married to Marion G. (Wilder) and she preceded him in death on April 4, 1971. Bob had retired in 1985 as a metal fabricator with Challenge – Cook Bros. Inc. of Bryan where he had been employed for many years. Surviving are two sons, Robert Leo Coon, Swanton, Ohio and David Lee (Sheila) Coon, Montpelier, one daughter, Sharon Ann (James) Loomis, Vacaville, California, Six grandchildren and one great granddaughter, and a sister, Mary Davies, Montpelier. Also preceding him in death were two brothers, Roy LaVerne Coon and Raymond Coon. Visitation for Robert L. Coon will be Friday September 23rd from 5- 8 p.m. in Wilson – Geesey Funeral Home, 335 Empire Street, Montpelier, Ohio 43543. Services will be in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 24th with Pastor Mike Wilder officiating, Burial will follow in Shiffler Cemetery.
