Rodney D. Baker, Jr., 47, of Kunkle, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Community Hospitals and Wellness Centers in Bryan. He was born on April 18, 1970 in Montpelier to Rodney D. and Jonell L. (Haas) Baker, Sr. R.D. graduated from North Central High School in 1989. R.D. was a member of the Madison Township Fire Department for 29 years, with 8 of those years spent as Assistant Chief. He dearly loved his family and enjoyed spending his time hunting and fishing. R.D. is survived by his parents, Rodney D. and Jonell L. Baker, Sr., of Kunkle; three children, Natasha (Ben) Baldwin of Bryan, Jeramy J. Baker of Pioneer and Jonathan D. Baker of Kunkle; five grandchildren, Makenna, Daisy, Alexis, Brooklynn and Brylee; two brothers, Keith (Kris) Baker of Montpelier and Joel (Brenda) Baker of Kunkle; maternal grandfather, John Haas; and life companion, Barbara Lillard of Kunkle. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home in Pioneer. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ron Evans to officiate. Interment will follow at Kunkle Cemetery in Kunkle, OH. Donations may be made in memory of R.D. to the Madison Township Fire Department.
