Ronald L. Brown, 85, of Montpelier passed away Thursday, July 14, 2022 at his home.  He was born on May 5, 1937 in Montpelier to Arthur and Lolabelle Brown.  After High School Ron proudly served his country in the United States Army.  He married Rebecca J Stantz.

Ron worked on the Railroad for several years before becoming an Independent Excavation Contractor.  He also trained horses.  Ron loved Sunday NASCAR races and  he raced Sprint Cars.  He enjoyed fishing.  Ron and Becky used to love riding on their motorcycle.  He always looked forward to spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Becky; son Ronald D. Brown of Montpelier; grandchildren Michael (Destany Duvall) Brown, Brooke (A.J.) Williams and Alec Waterston, all of Montpelier, 14 great grandchildren; and brother Joe (Janet) Brown of Montpelier.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents, son Jerry Brown, great grandson Liam Brown, sister Delores and brothers Jim & Harold Brown.

Visitation for Ron will be on Monday, July 18th from 3-7pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier.  Services will be on Tuesday at 11am at the funeral home with Jerry Freese to officiate.  Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier with military rites provided by the Montpelier Veterans.  Memorial contributions may be given to the funeral home to help offset expenses.
