IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Scott K.
Brokate
February 25, 1964 – August 14, 2025
Scott K. Brokate, 61, of Montpelier passed away on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at his home. He was born on February 25, 1964 in Cleveland, Ohio to Myron Carl and JoAnne (Walls) Brokate. As he grew up in the Cleveland area, he fell in love with their baseball and football teams, and that love grew as he grew. He could tell you about any player, any game, and even the history of the building of the stadiums in Cleveland. He would call family members each week when there was a game on to remind them to watch the game. Scott had the most generous of hearts. He was ready and willing to give to those he loved without question. Scott loved his nieces and nephews and would call to check on them, remember their birthdays and other special days, and would remind his siblings on every call to make sure to tell their kids that "he said hi and he loves them." Scott loved old comedy movies and would love quoting lines from them and sharing in funny parts from them with others. Scott had a huge sense of humor. No matter what life brought his way, he could find a way to bring humor and laughter to any situation. Scott loved his family so very much. He would call to check on them daily. He had photos of his family members all around his home. When his mom was alive, he would visit her daily. Scott also made the few hours' drive each way to spend his father's last Thanksgiving with him. Scott will be greatly missed, never forgotten and always loved.
He is survived by his siblings Denise (Michael) Linnen of Mint Hill, North Carolina, Bryan (Sandra) Brokate of Enola, Pennsylvania, Andrea (William) Wright of Mentor, Ohio and Melissa (Ashraf) El-Meanawy of Brookfield, Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews. Scott was preceded in death by his parents and brother Randall Brokate.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 4th at 11am at St. John's Lutheran Church in Port Clinton, Ohio with Pastor Jarrod Schaffer to officiate. Scott will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery in Port Clinton.
