Terry Timothy Spire, 56 of Montpelier died late Thursday night at the Community Hospitals and Wellness Center in Bryan after a hard fought battle with cancer. Terry was born on February 2nd 1956 in Toledo, Ohio to Glenn C. and Reba W. (Meek) Spire, Jr.
Terry attended the Montpelier High School. On August 20th 2007 he married Donna L. Linacre in Blakeslee, Ohio and she survives.
For the past 10 years Terry has owned and operated Rush Painting and Wallpapering of Montpelier. Prior to this he worked at Anderson-Vreeland Corp in Bryan.
Terry was an avid NASCAR fan and was able to attend his final race at the Michigan International Speedway on Father's Day of this year with his family. He also enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his wife Donna of Montpelier, three daughters Terri Sue and husband Shane Nemire of Montpelier, Wanita and husband Keith Lloyd of Montpelier, Jennifer and husband Tony House of Montpelier, son Thomas and wife Morgan Blanton of Bryan, eleven grandchildren Erica, Devin, Alexis, and Makenzie Nemire, Mercedez, Tanisha and Alyssa Lloyd, Alizya House, Tyrone Taylor, Logan and Chloe Blanton, two brothers Glenn and wife Karen Spire of St. Petersburg, FL, Kevin Spire of Maryville, TN, sister Renee and husband Gary Hetterly of Kinderhook, MI, his close personal friend Aaron and wife Kim Grubb of Montpelier, his seven faithful companions Lucky Dog, Apryl Mae, Scrappy Doo, Molly May, Maggie Mae, Bear Claw and Red Dog.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Wendy Spire on May 17th 1977 and a sister Susan Eichner.
Visitation hours for Terry will be on Monday, July 16th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Thompson Funeral Home in Montpelier. Services will be on Tuesday at 2 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Don Harris to officiate. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier. Donations may be made to the Williams County Humane Society.
