Thelma "Little" L. Grine, 82, of West Unity died late Saturday night at the Community Hospitals and Wellness Center in Bryan. She was surrounded by her loving husband and children as God came down from heaven and took one of his precious angels into his loving arms. Little was born in Montpelier on May 7th 1929 to Arthur C. and Helen (Vance) Montgomery, she had been a Williams County resident for all of her life. Little was a 1947 Montpelier High School graduate and a year later married the love of her life Norman R. Grine on May 29th 1948 in Bryan, Ohio.
Little was a homemaker. She had a great love for taking care of not only her own children and grandchildren, but also many other children in the surrounding community of West Unity.
Little was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montpelier.
Little is survived by her husband Norman of 63 years , two daughters Marsha K. Edwards of Crawfordsville, IN, Ann (Pat) Keller of Georgetown, KY, three sons N. Richard (Rhonda) Grine, Jr. of Winter Haven, FL, Denis (Cheryl) Grine of West Unity, Ed A. Grine (Jean Martinez) of San Antonio, TX, 10 grandchildren Stephanie Grine (Kenny Witham), Denise (Steve) Marquart, Keith (Krista) Grine, John (Katie) Grine, Heather (Ben) Mavis, Sara (Tim) Hinton, Dusty Grine, Jenny (Sean) Clarke, Courtney Keller, Morgan Grine, nine great grandchildren, two brothers Clarence (Violet) Montgomery of Montpelier, and James (Gerry) Montgomery of Sturgis, MI.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son in-law Bill Edwards, four brothers Cedric, Robert, Otho (infant), Adrian (infant), and a twin sister Velma "Big" Caldwell.
Visitation hours for Little will be on Tuesday, April 3rd from 2-7:30 pm at the Thompson Funeral Home in Montpelier. A Rosary service will follow at 7:30 pm. Services will be on Wednesday at 10 am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Montpelier with Father Fred Duschl to officiate. Interment will follow at Floral Grove Cemetery in West Unity. Donations may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or the Hospital Hospice.
