Obituary

VELTAH I. OYER (1922 – 2010) Veltah I. Oyer, 88 of Bryan, Ohio died Saturday evening, December 25, 2010 at Community Hospital and Wellness Center, Bryan. She was born September 3, 1922 near Alvordton, Ohio to Charles and Josie B.(Ebaugh) Esterline and had been an Alvordton/Kunkle area resident for many years before relocating to Bryan in 1999. A 1940 graduate of Kunkle High School, on August 2, 1941 she was married to Gerald L. Oyer, and he survives. Veltah was a member of the Kunkle United Brethren Church for many years, had served as church pianist, and was a life member of the Women's Missionary Society of the church. Presently she was a member of New Hope Community Church, Bryan, and the Primetime Group of the Church. Also she was a member of the Williams County Camp of Gideon's International. Also surviving is one son, Terry L. (Ruth) Oyer, Defiance; two grandchildren, Brian (Connie) Oyer , Westland, Michigan and Karen Oyer, Defiance; two great grandchildren, Timothy J. and Jacob M. Oyer. She was preceded in death by a three year old brother, Galen Esterline. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in Wilson – Geesey Funeral Home, 335 Empire Street, Montpelier, and after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday prior to funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in New Hope Community Church, Bryan, with Pastor George Kreger officiating, Burial will be in Floral Grove Cemetery, Pioneer.
