Walter "Bob" A. Roberts 76, of  Montpelier passed away late Wednesday night at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Walter was born March 11, 1936 in Somerset County, Pennsylvania to Harry L. and Mable R. (Parr) Roberts. After serving in the army during the Korean War, he went to work for Winzeler Stamping Company in Montpelier. After retiring from Winzeler's, he drove truck for M. & S. Carriers (Swift) for over 20 years. Walter was a member of the Montpelier Eagles. Walter is survived by five sons: Billy (Sheryl) Roberts of Pearisburg, Virginia; Clair A. Roberts of  Osseo, Michigan; Ralph Roberts of Canton, Georgia; Larry (Tamara) Roberts of Marion, Ohio; Scott Roberts and Alicia Rhoden of Edon, Ohio; three daughters: Helen (Ron) Borton of Osseo, Michigan; Sandra (Rodney) Hartsock of Montpelier and Linnea D. Blevins of Nashville, Tennessee; 27 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; four step grandchildren and one step great grandchild. "Bob " was preceded in death by his parents, one son: Darrell Roberts; one grandchild and three great grandchildren; two brothers: James and Harry Roberts and former wife: Dorothy M.(Shaffer) Jordon. Visitation for "Bob" will be Sunday June 24, 2012 at Thompson Funeral Home in Montpelier from 2-7 p.m.   Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home with burial to follow at  Riverside Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be performed by the Montpelier Veterans. Preferred memorials are to the family or Williams County Cancer Assistance.
