Obituary

WILLAMINE B. "BILLIE" APT Willamine B. "Billie" Apt, 90 of Kunkle, Ohio, died Monday evening August 8, 2011 in Evergreen Manor Nursing Home, Montpelier, Ohio. Born December 1, 1920, at Pittsford, Michigan to Lloyd and Pearl (Woodard) Rumsey, she was a Kunkle resident most of her adult life. On July 5, 1947 she was married to Sherman William "Bill" Apt, and he preceded her in death on September 13, 2009. Billie was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. She had retired in 1980 after 9 years as an assembler at Custom-Fit, Inc. of Pioneer. She was a member of the Kunkle United Brethren Church. and Pioneer American Legion Post #307. In 1962 she was the organizer of the annual Fourth-of-July Kunkle Parade which has been held continuously to the present. Surviving are two sons, Gary S. Apt, Kunkle, and Dan (Nancy) Apt, Bryan. Two grandchildren, Jason (Alisa) Apt, Columbus, Ohio, and Amber Apt, Bryan; and, a sister, Loretta Travis of Jackson, Michigan. Preceding her in death in addition to her husband was an infant daughter, Jane R. Apt. Visitation for Willamine "Billie" Apt will be Thursday August 11, 2011 from 4 – 8 p.m. in Wilson – Geesey Funeral Home, Montpelier. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Reverend Ronald Evans officiating. Burial will be in Kunkle Cemetery where Military Graveside Rites will be conducted by Pioneer Veterans Organizations. Preferred memorials are to the Kunkle United Brethren Church
