Helen Powers Obituary

Helen O. Powers, 85, of Alvordton passed away Tuesday morning at Evergreen Health Care in Montpelier. She was born on March 8, 1935 in Paulding County to Harley Andrew and Sarah Elizabeth (Mason) Mason. Helen was a member of the American Legion in Pioneer and the Montpelier Eagles.

She is survived by loving companion Karl J. Miller of Alvordton; her children, Jesse (Cheryl) Powers of Montpelier, Gary (Rebecca) Powers of Pioneer and Steven (Christine) Powers of West Unity; seven grandchildren Stephanie, Michael, Kyle, Kasey, Steven, Chad and Crystal; eleven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild; brothers Doyt (Arlene) Mason of Nashville, Tennessee and Roger Mason of Findlay.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jewell A. Powers, and siblings Norman, Carlos and Dean Mason, Iona Mason, Marilyn Swihart, Nina Milliken and Shirley Goble.

Helen will be laid to rest at Floral Grove Cemetery in West Unity. Memorial contributions may be given to the Williams County Humane Society or Evergreen Manor Nursing Home Activity Fund.
