Larry Dean Traxler, 80 of Kunkle passed away on December 13, 2021 at the Community Hospitals and Wellness Center in Bryan. He was born on March 15, 1941 in Madison Township to Cleveland and Sarah Dorothy (Bockover) Traxler.
Larry retired from Bard’s Manufacturing in Bryan after 36 years of employment. He enjoyed woodworking, building homes and businesses around the Kunkle area. He was unofficially known as the Mayor of Kunkle. Larry had a love for books and was instrumental in putting together a book on the history of Kunkle.
He is survived by a son Justin E. Bailey of Kunkle, nieces Jackie and Sue, nephews Paul and Bruce and numerous great nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Joann and Shirley and a brother Milton.
Visitation hours for Larry will be Friday, December 17 from 10am – 12pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. Services will follow at 12 noon with Dr. Dan VanArsdalen to officiate. Interment will be at Floral Grove Cemetery in Pioneer. In lieu of flowers donations may be given to the Williams County Historical Society.
