Sonia M. Fournier, 46, of Flint, MI and formerly of Montpelier passed away at her home on Sunday, November 1st. She was born on June 20, 1974 in Bryan to Charles and Diana (Brewer) Ewers. Sonia graduated from Montpelier High School in 1992. On July 6, 2019 she married Brian D. Fournier and he survives.
Sonia was a member of the Davison Assembly of God in Davison, MI. She had a passion for Operation Christmas Child, which is associated with the Billy Graham Association. Sonia spent time speaking to individuals that were dealing with Multiple Sclerosis. She had also volunteered at a hospice organization.
She is survived by her husband Brian of Flint; stepson Brian Fournier, Jr.; father Charles (Cindy) Ewers of Montpelier; siblings Melissa Ewers of Montpelier and Daniel (Patricia) Ewers of Bryan; nephew Damon Ewers; and grandmother Jean Ewers of Bryan. Sonia was preceded in death by her mother Diana Ewers in September 2013.
Visitation for Sonia will be Saturday, November 7th from 11am-1pm at the Thompson Funeral Home on Main Street in Montpelier. Services will follow at 1pm at the funeral home with Pastor Denny Jones to officiate. Sonia will be laid to rest Riverside Cemetery in Montpelier. The family has asked that if attending services, you adhere to the social distancing guidelines and that you bring a mask, as wearing one will be required. Memorial contributions may be given to National MS Society.
